Anything that can be drawn in two dimensions can be carved. I render my ideas before putting a tool to wood.

Whether you love old fashioned americana, or celtic imagery, wood is a medium that lasts through time.
Wood is perfect in a home. A familial crest or shield of arms above the mantle. A carving of a tree, surrounded by a scriptural border. whatever may be imagined is richly satisfying when realized in wood.

Wood has always been a favorite materials to use and to own. I
love
its warmth, strength and its feel to the touch. I like its
smell.
With so many things now manufactured in plastic that can so
accurately mimic the look of wood, I tend to value the less-finished
pieces more for their honesty. When I work a piece
I tend
to leave a couple of random tool marks here or there just to ensure the
viewer can be certain they're looking at a genuinely hand-made object
of wood. I love it because it's something that hasn't been
mass-produced. It's the only one of its kind -- not stamped,
molded, painted or imprinted.

Think of someone that you love. Which would they value more highly in the years to come; a toaster, or a bread board inscribed with a special date or quotation?
So now that you have that idea, I'd like you to call me or send me an email and tell me what you have in mind. My job is turning things like these into reality.
